Ringgit opens broadly higher against US dollar

KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit rebounded to open higher against major currencies, including the US dollar, dealers said.
At 9.05 am, the ringgit was quoted at 4.2850/2950 against the greenback from 4.3010/3050 on Monday. A dealer said news that Chinese Premier Li Keqiang would buy more
Malaysian treasury bonds in a move to help stabilise the financial
market perked the market.
The local note appreciated against the Singapore dollar to
3.0227/0302 from yesterday's 3.0295/0345 and strengthened against the
yen to 3.4874/4970 from 3.4931/4972 previously.
It rose against the British pound to 6.4798/4966 from 6.5190/5277 on
Monday and improved against the euro to 4.5571/5695 from 4.5720/5766
